(North Bend, OR) – The Coos County Airport District (CCAD) and the City of North Bend have agreed to terms to cover call-out services when requested by the Transportation Service Administration (TSA). TSA operates checkpoints at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport to screen passengers when they board a commercial flight. On rare occasions, a callout to law enforcement is made.

Under the five-year Intergovernmental Agreement, the city will receive $15-thousand each year until June 30, 2028. CCAD Executive Director, Rodger Craddock expressed his appreciation, “the ongoing partnership with the City of North Bend allows us to provide valuable services to the citizens of Coos County.” The IGA can be extended if it is mutually agreed upon by both parties. For this partial year, the city will receive a prorated amount.

The North Bend City Council approved the IGA on August 8, 2023. The CCAD Board of Commissioners is expected to ratify the Intergovernmental Agreement at the next meeting scheduled for August 24, 2023. The agreement goes into effect on September 1, 2023.

CCAD owns the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport which is a Part 139 Certified Commercial Airport in the state of Oregon. It serves a critical service provided to citizens on the south coast. It is also a vital part of the state’s aviation plan that links to the Oregon Transportation Plan, a long-range vision and policy foundation to guide transportation system development and investment.
