Notice of Budget Meeting

The Coos County Airport District (CCAD) will hold its first Budget Committee meeting for the upcoming fiscal year on May 13, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport terminal, 1100 Airport Lane, North Bend.

During this public meeting, the Budget Committee will receive the budget message, review the proposed budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and take public comment.

The Budget Committee is comprised of the five CCAD Commissioners and five appointed Coos County residents. The committee plays a key role in reviewing the District’s financial plan and ensuring transparency and accountability in the budgeting process. Additional meetings may be scheduled, as needed, to complete the budget review.

Community members are encouraged to attend or submit comments in advance. Written comments may be emailed to info@flyoth.gov or delivered to the Airport Administration Office prior to the meeting. For questions, contact the Airport Administration Office at (541) 756-8531.

The Coos County Airport District owns and operates the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport, providing a critical service to citizens on Oregon’s South Coast and economic development. The Airport is also a vital part of the State’s aviation system and supports the Oregon Transportation Plan—a long-range vision and policy framework guiding transportation system development and investment.

Airport District Seeks Operations Officer

The Coos County Airport District is hiring an Airport Operations Officer. This position plays a key role in maintaining the day-to-day safety, security, and operational functions of the airport. Responsibilities include monitoring and managing airfield activities, assisting airport users and the public, and performing Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) duties. A working knowledge of FAA Parts 139 and 77, and TSA 1542 regulations is essential. Candidates must be able to work in various conditions, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary range: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour DOE. Airport District Seeks Maintenance Technician

The Coos County Airport District is hiring a Maintenance Technician. General duties include grounds, airfield, and facility general maintenance; operating and maintaining heavy and light equipment; safety and emergency support; participating in drills and safety training; performing general repairs on airport buildings and infrastructure; and other duties as assigned.

Salary  range: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour DOE. Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program

Airports receiving FAA grants for airport development are required by law to have a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program. In an effort to establish a level playing field for the participation of disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged businesses for airport construction contracts, T-O Engineers, on behalf of the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport, has made available the DBE goal methodology for the 2022 – 2024 fiscal years.

Proposed Runway 5/23 Runway Safety Area Improvements Project
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport announce the availability of the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) for proposed improvements at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport in North Bend, Coos County, Oregon, for public review. The EA examines the potential environmental impacts of the placement of a triangular bulkhead into Coos Bay at the end of Runway 5/23 to ensure compliance with current FAA runway safety standards for airports. Physical copies of the EA may be viewed during regular business hours at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport Administration Office, 1100 Airport Ln, North Bend, Oregon 97459
